Here, we’ll wrap up with some more great hints that will set you on the path to success!
Authority Figure Endorsements
It is a well-known fact that people trust authority figures or industry experts, persons who are versed in their craft and have years of experience in their niche. You can search for authority figures in your niche, ask them to take a look at your website and provide some sort of endorsement that you can add to it. Offer them a free trial of a service that you provide or send them a sample of your product to review. Many of them have their own blogs or websites where they may post the review in addition to your own page.
If you can afford it, approach celebrities to endorse your website or even specific products that you sell. For example, Tiger Woods would be a great celebrity to use as an endorser for a website that sells golfing equipment, or Michael Jordan would be just right for endorsing a website that sells NBA gear.
Customer Interviews
In addition to written testimonials, you could interview some of your customers who had a great shopping experience on your website. This adds credibility to your products or service, when visitors see that a real person is talking about their own experience. The interview could be posted on your website as a text-only dialogue or as a video. Many Brands prefer using videos because viewers are able to see the emotions on the faces of the customers and listen to how their voices change (inflexion, tone, etc.) as they relate their experience.
You can also use podcasts to endorse your products. Some websites publish weekly podcasts that include interviews with customers from the previous week who talk about their experience shopping on the site. Do not downplay the effectiveness of interviews because they do work (and have worked for many years) for various Brands that avail themselves of that kind of endorsement!
Include a Feedback Section
One of the quickest and easiest ways to get testimonials and positive reviews from your customers is by including an area on your website where people can post feedback about their general experience using your website. The form could be in the sidebar or near the footer, or under products that you are selling so that they can post feedback that is specific to the product being sold on your product pages.
Take a look at Amazon, for example. They allow their customers to rate the products they sell by asking them to click the number of stars they believe the products deserve. In addition, customers can come back to the Amazon website to post reviews of the products that they bought. Potential customers who come to buy the same products often read the feedback left by previous customers and then decide if they should spend their money buying those products. This strategy has made Amazon one of the most successful online businesses, and it can work for you too.
Here is an important thing you need to do when using a feedback form: include some sort of way to prove that whoever is leaving a comment is a human so as to eliminate spam comments that are generally posted by spam bots. This can be achieved by adding a reCAPTCHA plugin or a Math Comment Spam Protection plugin to your feedback form. Spam bots cannot do additions or type in the correct CAPTCHA codes displayed in the box. Only humans are able to do that, so include one of those or any other plugin that offers similar forms of protection.
